Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil)

  • 2 medium onions, minced (1 1/2 cups total)

  • 2 cups plain greek yogurt

  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a saute pan over medium-low heat, add butter. When hot, add onions and cook until caramelized and golden brown, about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If onions begin to stick or dry out, reduce heat and add a splash of water to rehydrate onions.

  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.

  3. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and worcestershire sauce. Stir in caramelized onions.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours prior to serving to allow flavours to meld.

  5. Serve cold with chips or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • Greek yogurt can be substituted with all sour cream or a combo of half sour cream and half (softened) cream cheese.

  • Dip will keep in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 5 days.
